Min says sees January–March 2019 inflation at 4.5–5%
MOSCOW, Sep 6 (PRIME) – Russian inflation can amount to 4.5–5.0% annually in January–March 2019 because of a rise of value added tax, which will contribute about 0.3% to the consumer price index, Economic Development Minister Maxim Oreshkin told reporters on Thursday.
“I absolutely agree here (with the central bank). Our forecast, we have been saying this since long ago, is that (inflation) will peak in the first quarter, it will be higher than 4.5, 4.5–5.0%, we expect it in this range now,” Oreshkin said.
